The American Way

The union has outdone itself to blow smoke up your posterior with an onslaught of bogus American themed flyers. Any true American would see this is the same propaganda that Stalin would pass on to the Soviets in his era. These are nothing but patriotic sounding ideas combined with work messages designed to confuse workers and take the bait. The Machinist union has removed your freedoms and is endangering your jobs.

While looking at comments under the previous article here, I looked at some statistics and found there may be a reason jobs can leave out plant. Already NAPI and Camden are taking increasing roles in Missile Systems. Why? One reason is the belligerent union has forced the Company to reduce risk from this bunch of militants. Jobs might go away because the union squeezed the Company so hard they have to look elsewhere for a dependable and loyal workforce. The union will bring a self-fulfilling prophecy to themselves if screw up as bad as they did in '06.

The American Way Flyer by the union is a silly propaganda rag. Are you dumb enough to fall for the "You don't have rights on the job" line? Those Constitutional rights are written to protect individuals from incarceration, not job loss. Ask anyone in jail if there is a difference between the two. Maybe we could get opinions from Sheriff Joe Arpaio's jail residents to get a clue. If you sell your freedom for security, you deserve neither.

It goes on to say "you don't have a say or a vote on your working conditions" Yes you do! You have feet. Use them if you're not happy! How about that unforgettable gut wrenching line "...without a contract you are an at will employee.” There they go stirring the pot of fear again. But what does the union do for you? I know workers in the union who have been lobbying for and voting for good changes for their whole career, and they get ignored. What I can't figure out is, why they keep paying dues? No wonder, these same guys signed my petition last week.

With or without a union contract, this defense contractor will treat you fairly. How many salaried types are fired unjustly? Compare that to how many stupid crooked unionists keep their job and add to the dead weight around here after the union brings those losers back! More unionists are angry that so-and-so kept their job after a major screw up than any rumor of someone getting unjustly fired. It just doesn’t happen.

Now the union wants to give a black eye to our friend and colleague, Gary. The fact is that he wasn't fired, and didn't use their help. He rejected it. He is a guy that fought the system and won all by himself! Who needs the union? Go ahead and speak up! No retribution happens. I see engineers and salaried folks bringing up safety & quality issues all the time. So far, ZERO firings. So their argument doesn't hold water.

Their sheet of paper isn't worth the ink that's on it. You don’t give up your rights except by joining the union. Don’t give the union exclusive representative rights over you. Quit the union now and go back to the way true Americans do business. Go to the petition page and take back your rights!

Hey Visconti, this ones for you!

"While looking at comments under the previous article here, I looked at some statistics and found there may be a reason jobs can leave out plant. Already NAPI and Camden are taking increasing roles in Missile Systems. Why?"

Because of weak little A$$e$$ like you who couldn't stay away from the company that closed their wallets. Now you want to blame the union negotiating committee, it's leaders, and it's members. When are you going to start blame the dead relatives? Who's next on your where to point my finger list. I know it's hard for you guys but why not try to think for change...What could I do to HELP the union make this better for us? Instead of trying to get rid of it or weaken it.Morons.

I've provided input to this blog to help, Tom. You union is guilty of everything we've said.

We'e tired of your games. WWW taught you to go down Ho-Chi-Min trail. Somewhere back there you forgot us American Workers and now you only speak for the socialists.

Give workers a reason to go after promotions again!

I think Tom Hacker is in it for himself. Look at the pay raise he gave himself during 2006 contract. The current union at Raytheon is a house of cards due for its own inevitable demise. The blame for this collapse is not the members, nor this movement, nor the company; look to its union leaders and their slipshod operations. If they had at least showed some integrity with no hidden agendas this union may have worked. Good riddance to lodge 933!

"" I know it's hard for you guys but why not try to think for change...What could I do to HELP the union make this better for us?""

This statement says it all however WHY did 933 union leaders ignore their own rant? Here is a quote that the machinist union is sure to understand and 933 leaders should apply to themselves. "A bad workman always blames his tools."

"If Senate and House members vote against including a public health insurance plan option in health care reform, they very well could lose the backing of working families and their unions in the next elections, says AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Richard Trumka."

It looks like the AFL-CIO is blackmailing Congress, trying to force EFCA and Socialized Medicine down our throats! If Mr. Trumka is serious, then the political involvement of our union is deeper than we all feared. Socialism is a light term for this type of ramrodding. Any union member that is not outraged by union fiddling in federal policy on non-labor issues must be a socialist. If your conscience conflicts with socialist ideas, then you must fight back now, or forever loose your rights as a free American. Quit this Communist Organization and fight it like you fight for 2nd Amendment rights!

Okay, you savant, your own people are writing words like these:

Can ya cut a brother a break?

I'm beggin' ya, man, can ya?

You can't "squeeze" something you did not get you moron!

This proves the point then, it's the negotiator's skills that are lacking, thus convincing proof of the earlier statement:

"We see the results of those negotiations every three years - THAT'S HOW WE KNOW THE UNION HAS SCREWED US!"

No real sense in arguing this point any longer. I'm pretty sure that your (lack of) skills in discussions gets the bargaining unit the 'wonderful' contracts we get.

C'mon, go on strike again. I double-dog dare ya!

Wee little Willie

We find it interesting that you have been going around bragging about how you now have a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapons permit) and that you are "ready for a strike”. Sounds as if you are threatening to use violence against union workers. For someone who proclaims to be a Christian and has been to Bible College, you're beginning to fit the Center for disease's profile of an individual that may be prone to committing work place violence. Plant Security has been going around handing out flash cards issued by Homeland Security about possible active shooters. Since you have made this public, it is theirs and our responsibility to take this information to Raytheon Security, we have advised those people to do so. It is a shame that as one who proclaims to have such high standards, that your true colors show how you are nothing more than a spineless little man. What a shinning example you are for your children and fellow oust members.

I know Willie, and I don't know that to e true. But if it were, there would be a logical explaination for it. Did you ever watch Matewan? It was a union sponsored movie, oh...about a year and a half ago at your little shack on Ajo Way. Yea, the one with all the union violence in it? Uh huh...this might explain why a man would feel the need to protect himself and family. Union thugs are known for violence.

So while we're profiling here, lets get the union president to post a patrioic flyer in all the break rooms that denounces union violence. Because unions and violence go together like ice cream and apple pie, no?

So I asked around about this "rumor" that salary will be doing tester work. Can't seem to find where that might even be remotely true. Oh by the way 5 "new" testers have been hired this week so having salary doing that jobs seems like a LIE!!!

Superbia Parti said...

Thanks for your intelligent reply, Jeff. I would like to believe the same. The union must return testers pay to what it should be. It is behind. So are Machinists and Cal Techs and so on and so forth.

Many fields were neglected in earning power when compared to other labor classes here, while the "average" worker pay went up over the years. Another tester told his steward today that they intend to quit the union over this.

It can't help the Company in the long run to use engineers as testers, I agree, but it seems like they can't hire at the wages they have in the contract. The Company is desperate. This should be a huge oportunity for a smart union negotiation team. The union needs to correct the injustice.

A big thanks for the support in non-violence. The real or perceived threat of violence makes this unsavory for all. I understood that when I decided to take on this challenge. I don't mind the jerks who won't look at me in the hall. I don't mind it when they shut up when I walk into a room. But I expect both sides of the arguement to be law abiding citizens.

I have not asked Willie if it's true about the "concealed weapons permit" rumor yet. But in Arizona, men believe in the 2nd Amendment. The only person who has to fear from that is one who invades another man's home, safety, or family.

As far as that EFCA film, that woman is from MSLSD TV, and she is the second most biased reporter in the world, after Keith Oberman.
EFCA is a surrender of your rights. It is an enhancement of union's rights and power, not the individual.

I support individual rights. A union has legal representational rights over the worker, overruling the worker if a conflict arises. That is not worker rights. It's a loss of rights. Giving up the secret ballot is anti American.

If certain provisions of the EFCA made it through to make it hard to fire people who want to organize, then I would be happy. But I still want a ballot box so nobody can twist my arm into signing a card.

As last introduced in the U.S. Congress, the EFCA, if enacted, would change the currently existing procedure to require the NLRB to certify the union as the bargaining representative without directing an election if a majority of employees signed cards.

Check out the site. It took 15 seconds to verify. Section 2 is verified. No secret ballot means just that.

Corporate front groups have mounted a massive campaign to block the Employee Free Choice Act. As former Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott has said, “We like driving the car and we’re not going to give the steering wheel to anybody but us.” The core of their campaign is lies and distortions about the Employee Free Choice Act—especially the lie that it takes away “secret ballot” elections. In fact, the act would let workers choose whether to decide on a union through majority sign-up or an election.

"(1) Giving working people the freedom to form unions and bargain collectively is key to turning around the economy and rebuilding America’s middle class." They already have it! But do you want to send 30 to 80 dollars a month to the fat cat on Ajo way? Why does he take 25% of your dues for himself? Shouldn't he make as much as the best workers? And this winter, your dues go up again! 25% of 2 hours a month for him was 92K a year. It sounds like he'll make $115K this year, and next year it will go to $138K! He didn't get you raises like that!

"(2)...form unions. Research shows nearly 60 million would form a union tomorrow if given the chance." HAHAHA..."research" by the left wing commies!

"(3) Too few workers are able to form unions and bargain because companies routinely block their efforts—and our current legal system is too broken and dominated by corporations to help them. A worker in an organizing campaign has a one in five chance of being fired for union activity." The 80% who have no trouble obey the law, the other 20% are crooks!

"(4) CEOs wouldn’t work a day without contracts to protect their outrageous pay and perks." YEA! And they represent themselves! Thanks for making my point!

"(5)The Employee Free Choice Act would allow workers, not corporations, to choose whether and how they want to form a union." LIE! It would allow Businesses (unions) to organize workers. Unions are a business, and they are designed to milk you of your wages. It would allow these union businesses to have exclusive control over the process. This same business model ruined Detroit.

"(6) The Employee Free Choice Act has widespread support, including bipartisan backing in Congress and President Obama’s pledge to sign it into law. Nearly three-quarters of the public—73 percent—support the Employee Free Choice Act." HAHAHAHA, and three quarters of Americans want the 2nd Amendment removed because armed people are dangerous!!

(7) ? EFCA DOES take away from secret ballot, Period. Show text from bill. You can't!

"(8) Majority sign-up is a long-established way to form a union, dating back to the passage of the National Labor Relations Act. It is used today by major employers, such as AT&T and Harley-Davidson, as an important part of their successful high-road business plans." Since when did HD vote in a "new" union? Haven't they been unionized for ages? Mute point.

Give me some straight answers as well. You claim the Union doesn't answer your questions, yet you have NOT answered the majority of my questions either. So, since you call the Union liars, I guess the same moniker should apply to you too. So, you "anti's" liars too!!!!

How do you know the company will negotiate with each and every one of you?

How do you know that the company won't lower wages? All they have to do is claim a lower skill set is needed to do the job and there you have it......

It's an individuals right to leave the company if he/she doesn't like the Union there as well. Better yet, join the Union and make the bargaining unit stronger for next negotiations. Not only that, maybe some of you "anti's" could even get elected on the negotiating committee if you have such a huge following there. Give it a shot. what do you have to lose? Only an election........ It won't hurt you....

All I see are a bunch of people more worried about themselves than the entire work force. Oh wait, make that individuals. And as a group of individuals, that is why the company continues to walk all over you in negotiations. You only know how to blame the Union, not yourselves. For some unrealistic reason you think that the Union holds the key to the company's money bag. You think the company just hands over exactly what the Union wants in negotiations. How dumb are you "anti's"? That is plain ol' ignorance speaking when you say things like that. Makes you sound as dumb as Slim looks in his picture.

Think about these things before signing and turning in your petitions. There are a ton of unemployed people out there that would be willing to work for less at your company. I know of a handful that would move there tomorrow for a job making even less that you make now. Don't think it won't/can't happen.

remember, be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.....

How about anywhere between $600 and $1000 a year in dues? For what? The chance to get bowled over by the socialists in charge? Others in our group already tried. Maybe you haven't read all the blogs. Been there, done that.
"All I see are a bunch of people more worried about themselves than the entire work force. Oh wait, make that individuals. And as a group of individuals, that is why the company continues to walk all over you in negotiations."
This is why certain groups of us get way more money than the going average, compared to others. The others get less than the going rate from the same union. Fair??! The union failed to make all classes get the same wage increases over the years. Why did you tell us you were for that, and now act like you never said it? Well here’s the date & time that you contradict your present message; May 15, 2009 9:59:00 AM. Look under Recycle the union. Read it and remember.
"There are a ton of unemployed people out there that would be willing to work for less at your company. I know of a handful that would move there tomorrow for a job making even less that you make now."
They can't dumb down our jobs and get the same results this Company is famous for. And they can't hire just any old jobless guy who would love to work for less. We are premium workers who command a premium price because the market forces dictate that, not us. The Company is suffering from lack of talent, because the jobs that they need most have wages set below the rate that attracts more of the highest caliber as they desire. This union has purposely redirected wages for the highest skills at the lower skills. This year the Company plans to force the union's hand. I hope they are ready to strike...if they survive.
"Think about these things before signing and turning in your petitions."
This was a heavy decision on all of our parts. But we were given no choice. Had Jimbo come out and worked to make things right, maybe it wouldn't have gotten this far. Does he still have time? Only God and whoever has the total tally of petitions knows for sure.

From what we're told in meetings, same stuff is happening in various areas on the plant as well. Same results, different time, same people. It's happened for years, my guess is that it'll continue to happen as long as they have to have humans build the objects we do build.

So stop making idle threats, you got petitions? Then either file them or shut the @#%% up and go crawl back under the rock you came out of!

Whoa, big words from a caring and compassionate member of the tribe. Folks, this last statement is true, but one final point, if I might, in this discussion.

To those on these last days and hours that are still undecided, this is what we're looking for. We're asking for the opportunity to give this union a vote of confidence. If we don't succeed this year, we'll continue with our fight three years from now.

You've read the discussions here and elsewhere. You know where this group stands, where the opposition stands, where you stand in all of this. Yes, you're making a decision for yourself and for the others in the bargaining unit.

Please understand that the vocal ones have chosen to participate in this on-line discussion on firing this union. There are hundreds of others who didn't care to become part of the discussion, but did sign the petition, because of the points brought up in these discussions, not only here but in break rooms, offices and parking lots around the plant site.

Are there enough valid signatures? We'll always take more, just in case!

This is no idle threat. Your union is doomed. Weather we remove it this time or not is dependant upon one simple qualifier. Do we have the signatures this time, or will it be next time?

The ice is broken. You have an opposition. We have illuminated the lying ways of your union. It's only a matter of time before those union jobs go away.

Jimbo and Steve will need to go back on the line and forget the largess they enjoyed on the backs of the working men & women of RMS.

PLEASE don't start getting sensitive now. Harsh words have been spoken by both sides. Fact of the matter is you cannot guarantee what the company will do with out the union in house. And you keep making the statement the leadership screwed you. The fact is negotiations are between TWO sides. The company offers and the union counter offers. There are items the company will not budge on this is not the unions fault. Raytheon has taken to offering some jobs more money in hopes of splitting the union and you guys have fallen into that trap. The union leadership does not vote the hourly folks do and we do this when the company gives the union it's best and last offer. From there it's up to each individual if the contract is to their liking. If the majority likes it then it passes if not well we know what happens then. It is extremely disingenuous for you to put all the blame solely on the union as their is also another group in that room. The company also knows that you antis weaken our cause and do not have to offer much. You amaze me because you weaken the unions bargaining power and then blame the union. I hope those that are undecided have seen the misinformation sent out by the antis and see that with full membership we can all achieve together.

You're as vile and corrupt as the company you work so hard to crucify on a daily basis, and you know it!

And you keep making the statement the leadership screwed you.

Me, my colleagues, and, yeah, probably some union members. We ALL got screwed; you're organization really did nothing to prevent it.

The fact is negotiations are between TWO sides.

Wrong. See, there's a third party, called IAM933. Leave, and then there will only be two sides at the party, the company and the employee.

Raytheon has taken to offering some jobs more money in hopes of splitting the union and you guys have fallen into that trap.

It's not a trap! They're occupations that are worth more than others. Why is that such an injustice? The trap is that your socialist beliefs that the 'educated' masses should carry the weight of the 'uneducated' masses. See, it's crap, and that's why CEP was disemboweled; over 80% of the hourly workforce has 60+ credit hours.

The union leadership does not vote the hourly folks do and we do this when the company gives the union it's best and last offer.

Or, to use YOUR words, "worst & final offer". See, that's because the leadership failed (again) to do their job (again). We (the decertification committee) aren't going to clean your mess up; we want to take that opportunity away from you by decertifying this union.

The company also knows that you antis weaken our cause and do not have to offer much. You amaze me because you weaken the unions bargaining power and then blame the union.

You've got a strong bargaining unit with 7 people in it. You have a slight majority in this one because of the ineptitude that the union leadership brings to the table time and time again.

I hope those that are undecided have seen the misinformation sent out by the antis and see that with full membership we can all achieve together.

"Raytheon has taken to offering some jobs more money in hopes of splitting the union and you guys have fallen into that trap."

Raytheon offers to give the high tech jobs more money, and you guys keep shooting them down. Our union doesn't appreciate a good education. Now I want the Company to force good wages for high-tech down your throat.
"The union leadership does not vote the hourly folks do and we do this when the company gives the union it's best and last offer."

The union votes only on what the union negotiating team brings out of negotiations. Lots of sham goes on in that room, you know it, we know it, so stop bluffing. You didn't even tell your folks that the Company would have offered $1000 Bonus for all if your negotiation team had recommended to vote for contract before the strike.

"It is extremely disingenuous for you to put all the blame solely on the union as their is also another group in that room."

Your words represent the suma-cum-ultimate disingenuous when you try to shift blame from your team to others for the shaft you've given us tradesmen over the years. The other group in the room has tried to accommodate the tradesmen, we know.
You shot it down for the almighty dollar collected on Ajo Way. We know you are only motivated to get money for the political machine. That means screw the technicians and machinists.

"You amaze me because you weaken the unions bargaining power and then blame the union."

Thank you. If I can weaken the union's bargaining power to make my point, so be it. You started a rebellion. We let you run over us in the past, now you must deal with us. You said "If you want to change the union, join it". We have proven that if you want to change the union, FIGHT IT!

"I hope those that are undecided have seen the misinformation sent out by the antis and see that with full membership we can all achieve together."

HOPE is a word used by OBAMA. The undecided among us overwhelmingly stated during our petition drive that they fear union violence. They hate you. Nice reputation to take into the 21st century, huh?
We offer more factual information than any propaganda produced by your socialist political machine. You hang by a thread yet, only because fear of union violence. They see that the farther they get from you, the safer they feel. You have no redeeming qualities, IAM933.
This weekend we count petitions. There are boxes of them. May God have mercy on your soul.

What, are they written on construction paper with crayons? If you have boxes of them, then you guys are just making up petitions. The government won't be interested in "petitions" signed by Mickey Mouse.

You're just making things up. You're trying to set up for the fact you don't have enough. Not near enough. You're already saying "next time."

Epic Fail.

I guess you haven't looked at the downloadable signature sheets you moron. But 'tards like you use crayons often. I know of at least one signature that won't be validated. It's from Rita Road and it reads "Bù||§#î7" in all Caps across it. Are you that douchebag? But that page is maxed out with other signatures. Nine per sheet.

Neither of us know if there is enough right now. You are just guessing. I have a ton of them. You can't count them. So I guess that makes you the child with crayons.

If we win, "Epic Loss",If we loose, "Epic Start". Regardless, it's an "Epic Failure" for the IAM Local to have provoked this rebellion.

Anonymous said...

If you have "boxes of them" it would be thousands or tens of thousands of signatures.

Nine per page. What, 1500 or so people total that can vote?

Less than a package of paper. You act like you'll need a truck to carry it.

You guys won't have enough. You know it's over. You just want to play the fantasy as long as you can get away with it.

Anonymous said...

One ream of paper would be enough. How many petitions came in with just one signature? And how many envelopes with a sheet of paper in it does it take to fill a box? How big is a box?

Anonymous said...

"Neither of us know if there is enough right now. You are just guessing. I have a ton of them."

This is the biggest lie you have told to date! If you were SOOOOOO badly wanting toget rid of the union you would have a daily total. Not to mention your iam933.net home page has been tauting the words "LESS THAN 1200 SIGNATURES NEED" YOU LYING PIECE OF HORSECRAP!!!!!!
May you rot in hell.

Have you ever considered taking all those who don't want to be with the 933 and maybe some others in salaried or security and starting your own local? I would be willing to bet the company would shut you down immediately, and if not, what a win for you guys!

Here, we have the 'divide and conquer' scheme; instead of one union, have more than one. Nice idea for some, but lets explain why this is also unacceptable.

The entire 'bargaining unit' must be dissolved first to even consider this.

You guys won't have enough [petitions]. You know it's over. You just want to play the fantasy as long as you can get away with it.

Willing to be your life of socialistic ideas on that statement?

You're just making things up. You're trying to set up for the fact you don't have enough. Not near enough. You're already saying "next time."

So, what if "next time" is THIS time? What if it is "next time"?

Our point has been made; we are ready to take it to the next level. Getting the masses to see that they've been mistaken for all these years might take a bit of time.

Stole this from Wikipedia, after a bit of searching:

The Phelps Dodge copper mine at Morenci, Arizona was the site of a violent strike from 1983 to 1986, culminating in one of the largest union decertifications in American labor history.

Now, go read a book and tell me again there's no union violence in Arizona. The book is by Jonathan D. Rosenblum (a good pro-labor lawyer) and it's called Copper Crucible: How the Arizona Miners' Strike of 1983 Recast Labor-Management Relations in America.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Two weeks ago the Eastside Serial Slasher attacked a Raytheon worker. It hit all the papers and news channels. A horrible crime committed, and the victim was left in a pool of blood to die, but for the help of others at the scene when they arrived minutes later. That Raytheon worker just happens to not be a member of the union. What unfolded after news reached the manufacturing floor opened a Pandora’s box that shocked factory managers.
.
Oust 933 has been saying for years now, that this union preaches hate. It sells odious rancor and profits from the venom is sews into the hearts of its victims (members) every few Sundays at Ajo Way. The manifestation of that hate revealed itself with the words uttered by one of the union’s militant tribesmen to another willing minion of the school of hate.

While Al and Rich spewed hate at work, Jimbo went to the hospital and paid a courtesy visit. Al and Rich were removed for cause, and sent to a lesser environment. It’s not hear say or lies. Ask Al and Rich. Jimbo was nice, but the victim never got short term disability anything from him. As to the question if others visited him; His VSM requested nobody visit, period. That was respected in accordance with his wishes and those of his family. Oust members did call him frequently while he was recuperating. Did you?
Unionist slanting of the incident are just like the union claims they initiated the retiree health care law suit. The union treasurer expressed anger that the union would NOT pick that fight when it started (Remember that Ramon R?). The retirees picked that fight, and the union let the lifetime retired membership down. Issue upon issue proves again and again that the union talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. This ununion doesn't represent.
I like the cute union busting 101 videos, LOL! What a crock! Fear? From us? You've got to be kidding. This Martin Levitt guy is getting rich selling his stories to unions (applause)!
So how many union busting corporations are active here at RMS? Wouldn't we have a more corporate onslaught of your silly union if there were? This simple grass roots effort has gone it alone.

Nope, only the leadership and the militants. Most of them are your victims. You've been fleecing them while intimidating them to stay in line. We've just been pointing that out.

"We've been called kool aid drinkers, lemmings, communists, socialists, nazis, thugs, criminals and god knows what else in your attempt to rid yourself of the union. Argue all you want but don't start with that charcter assassination crap. "

You guys should have brought forth an honest debate back when it was called for. Remember back in Jan 07? You chickend out back then and have done so ever since. You only got active when Agent Smith got scared. I wonder if Agent Smith's badge is in jeopardy? Only the FBI knows now.

What it all boils down to is that you guys got stupid, instead of challenging us on the issues, you started to challenge our sanity, or state of mind, our politics and religion. You posted baby videos from YouTube, and did every diversionary tactic you could. But the facts show your union sucks toad turds. Jeff gives us the only consistant dependable liberal argument in your favor. And he isn't from here! The rest of you guys are your own worst enema.

When facts are presented, you get vulgar and pathetic. You don't even come close to telling anyone anything remotely factual about the union, Raytheon, what you are doing to solve the issues the workers are concerned with. You're a shuck and jive organization. So you deserve the Soup Nazi treatment. That's all.

Nice responses all! Well, not all. All except the turd that wants us to go to his house & "crawl under a rock." Yes, I’m saying your house is under a rock.
Jeff, I'll respond to your more level headed comment. We've disagreed on most everything, but over the course of this event, you've been the most consistent and by far the most profesional.
We "think" we have enough because of two factors. First of all, we don't know the actual official number of employees. It's close to 1750 in all of labor. But it fluctuates. Second of all, we plan on attempting a small technicality that may or may not give the results we want. Recently, one of the union supporters on here suggested we try something, so we thought, why not? If we get an election, we will accept the results either way. As a Democratic kinda guy, I fully accept it if the majority of the workers vote to put down the petition. I want a chance to have a vote. I don't speak for the entire Oustees group of course. We have varying degrees of agreement on this.
If the union wins without election, I plan to remain active in criticizing the things that harm the worker. I won't crawl under a rock. I plan to shout down any attempts by any organization to treat the workers like chumps. But first let me be clear. Some of us believe we will have an election based upon the outcome of the petition count last night. If you sensed doubt in my comment, it's because I am making an honest assessment of what I see. I don't know if what the team wants to do will work. If it is accepted by the NLRB, then we can expect an election. Based upon the numbers alone, we have enough to demand one. But it's not as you have expected. Now we must turn in the documents and see for sure if it’s election time.
As for the videos, all were cute. I can’t quite comprehend the meaning of bad-boys though. Are we coming for you, or are you coming for us? Is this related to…
Yesterday someone made a comment: “Think those were fake do ya? You'll find out soon enough, so will leatherman visconti, rollinson coyne and, kieler.”
Aug 29, 2009 3:27:00 PM under BOHICA.
That message is interpreted as a threat. It is another example of union intimidation. It won’t affect the petition, but we have an election to consider. Any reprisals against these individuals or any others that you all have listed as persons of the scabby persuasion will be met with all legal means of resistance. It’s best you do as your DBR has requested and put the strike behind you. BTW, Don’t you support freedom of speech and differing opinions? Are you American or North Korean?

Anonymous said...

Slim, from the way I understand it you either have enough to have an election or you don't. Didn't know there was some other technicality out there...... Should be interesting to see.

If you do not have enough signatures for an election, why not join the Union and work to change it from within?????????? All you "ousties" join and you can get your agenda elected and see what you can do from within. What is there to lose???????? And don't give me the crap about dues. Suck it up and work to see if you "ousties" can do better???????

Things can be changed to benefit the workers. But with a right to work for less state it becomes more difficult. Those on the outside always thing those on the inside are doing shady things. I find it extremely difficult to believe that the Union is to blame for all your concerns/issues. But until you get on the inside, you will NEVER know.

Come on, lets hear the real numbers!!!!!!!! What do you have to hide or be afraid of?????

"Slim, from the way I understand it you either have enough to have an election or you don't. Didn't know there was some other technicality out there...... Should be interesting to see."

Pay attention, Jeff, as the words from SP are pretty easy to comprehend.

"If it is accepted by the NLRB, then we can expect an election. Based upon the numbers alone, we have enough to demand one. But it's not as you have expected. Now we must turn in the documents and see for sure if it’s election time."

Congratulations

So if this is true why the need for a technicality? At 1750 you would need 525 signatures right? Either you have that or you don't. I am not as smart as your resident genius so type it to me slow.

To All:
They're not going to post any numbers because 1st of threy don't have them. Secondly they're gonna play mind games like they always have, they're gonna remain silent for the suspense factor. Just like they play the fear factor of how violent local 933 is. Even though they use the violence of others to show how bad the local is.That thinking is about the same as those who think that if one is guilty all must be guilty.Did you notice that when they posted the aunt jemimah picture and someone called them racist it was less than 2 days they posted "just the facts" to avoid the heat. Just like they avoided the issue of Willie bragging about being "rady for a strike". They like to post fear but get uncomfortable when fear strikes them. Like the comment they made under Bohica:
"By posting fake websites about Wilie, and making false claims"
Fact is those were screen shots of "Real" websites that Willie posted to on company time. Now they fear the fact that others know so they try to shift the focus. This is what they always do,1.Dramatize,2.Place blame,3.Use other examples that don't apply to make theirs seem legit.4.Try to make the reader seem partly to blame if you don't agree.
Look at "fear factor? and oust933?" links in this post. This is what they do but vehemently deny it. They themselves are Nekid Chickens!

The Petition was submitted. Go back to work, and stop being dramatic.
What fear has struck the oustees? If it is rejected, do you think they'll stop? Dont count on it. No violence? OK if you say so. So why the threats? Are the Willie pictures legit? As if he would publish a flattering pic like that of himself. You talk opinion like it was fact. Willie posting on Company time? You better be able to prove that. But we know what computer Agent Smith uses.

It's Willie that will have to prove he didn't.

It depends on what the meaning of "30% rule" is.

Ohhhhhh 30% membership vs 30% total hourly? I guess that would be two different numbers. I called the NLRB to ask a few questions myself.

Someone miss me? I’ve been out of the blog since Agent Lobo Smith has been behaving. It would appear that he has taking up time posting one line youtube hyperlinks for his own amusement. Also I’ve been told he is getting his bus service ready for the vote. Maybe he misses the small bus he rode on while going to school in southern Arizona. Too bad he didn’t finish. Maybe his current project is one he will finally finish. Remember lobo “An idle mind is the devils workshop”.

"30% or more of the employees in the bargaining unit seek to be represented by the union or seek to decertify the currently recognized union." Taken from the NLRB web site.

Seems that this says that the 30% needs to come from the bargaining unit and not from those not in the bargaining unit.

Any comments Slim? Why so quiet all of a sudden????? The silence is speaking volumes!

Then I know I will give myself a raise; you can too!

Superbia Parti said...

OK,
So here's the scoop. I've been holding off on answering because I wanted the process to work its way through the system. Ramon, you can chill out now with the cartoons and HAHAs.
We tried the petition, and didn’t receive the required signatures needed to process the general petition for the whole bargaining unit. While we were collecting petitions, someone posted on Aug 25, 2009 7:32:00 PM and made the suggestion we look at splitting off from the union. Hence the "technicality" we were examining. I was kinda doubtful about the idea, but you can't lose for trying.
So here's it is again: With a minority of general signatures, but with a majority of the Cal-Tech support we decided t try it out. Message to the union: Take care of your cal-techs, because they are bolting on you. They are very-very angry at you.
Call them selfish if you want, but remember, they are one of the underpaid skills at RMS. But I digress. On Thursday of last week, we scrambled to write a special version of the petition just for the Cal-Techs. They got more than sufficient signatures in 48 hours to qualify for the petition limit, "if" the technicality went through. It's a long shot I thought, but what the heck, it's worth a try.
The facts are these. There is a petition on the docket. There will be a meeting to determine where they go with it. I am going to go along for the ride. If they win the right to an election based upon the needed percentage, then it will serve the rest of the non-union members to show that they could have signed and gotten somewhere. Maybe next time for the rest of us.
I am still dedicated to freeing the workforce of the union, not just the Cal-Techs. Regardless of what happens over the coming few weeks, I plan to continue my campaign for all the workers. I will be here regardless of what happens to the Cal Techs. In a general sense, we have succeeded in forcing the union to deal with an insurrection. We won the battle of recognition. It took some prodding to get them to wake up, and maybe too much time to get our desired result, but we will accept progress in the face of failure. Thanks to all who support our cause. We plan to continue to fight for your rights as individuals.
Ramon "Agent Smith" Rodriguez has spent many hours pondering over and writing to this blog. Too bad he didn't bring forth a rational debate such as Jeff did. We expected lots more from a vociferous character like Ramon. But he failed himself more than us. He had a chance to represent the values of his union, and square off with us in a public forum. In that sense, he did himself, and his constituents a huge disservice by stooping to the childish level he did. May someone else of high caliber from the union side stand up and replace Ramon’s weak skills for the continuing debate? Jeff, you are always welcome back here to tell us like you see it. Personally, I see you are quite skilled in the art, unlike your compatriots here in Tucson.
For now, Watch "As the union crashes" when the union begins to screw up negotiations and piss off the masses. Of course, if the Cal-Techs win their fight, Ramon will have to take a demotion to stay in the union, or he'll have to resign his position when the Cal-Techs are removed from the bargaining unit. And Jimbo will have to deal with the rest of us.

Wait a sec. I signed your petition because you promised big change and then you go and try to just get yourselves out? First the union screws us now you guys?! You lying P.O.S. So here we are, right where we started, out in the cold all by ourselves. The union won't get me to sign up, but you'll never see my signature again either! In fact if there is anyone who has a way to oust you, count me in!

You are a union fraud. You didn't sign no petition. You talk like a union. If you read SP's letter, you know they didn't have enough signers to break the whole union. So they took the group who had the majority that wanted out. Most the Cal Techs want out. Watch Jimbo say selfish and stuff! No Jimbo, you make $92000 a year. Nothing you say can change that.
