Re-Recruiting in a failing union economy

I'm on my way to work this Friday, my wife and I are talking about things in Bld 801 when she mentioned the area unionist approached her and asked her... "if she was ready to rejoin the union and no longer be a freeloader. Dont you know all these benefits you get are from the union", etcetera. One of her replies was "those benefits were already here when I joined. I had no choice but to accept them as a term of my employment."
.
The conversation went back and forth over the virtues of re-joining, and she came back with the reply "I've already tried things the union-way, and I didn't much like it. I've moved along now, and gave myseslf a pay raise!" "You guys didnt much care for me after I came back to work, but now you want my money and loyalty? No thanks."
.
This ended the conversation. But not before her boss overheard half the chatter, and asked if everything was cool. She told her boss that the incident was unwelcomed and that she would report it to her manager personally. And so she did. I haven't heard the managers reply yet. Supervision is looking for incidents of stewards and unionists recruiting on the floor.
.
If you are a victim of re-recruiting, contact your floor supervisor.

I love to be lied to by the union.

I am flattered that the union cares enough to personally invite me to sign up and join their cause. Too bad you left us out there standing in the cold. You guys made us feel like we were alone in
our fight two years ago. And we (you) didn't achieve any of the goals you talk about.

Progress required that we speak in unity, but you spoke for yourselves. Yea, we know about your spotted history...heros of yesteryear. That last sentence of the first paragraph is a horse manure. Dozens of unionists over the years told me that Howard Hughes invited your respectable organization to Hughes Aircraft! So which is it, you had enough and twisted his arm, or did he invite you? Your lies are unraveling your gig here kids.

You say you represent 1850 workers in the county? Yea?...is that true? NO, you manipulate a large number of workers, but represent? You didn't represent the worker who was walked off the job two weeks ago because he wasnt a member. So you pick and choose who you represent. We non members demand fairness, and the only way we see that will happen is when your union is unemployed at Raytheon.

Come join us in securing a better life for you and your loved ones by ridding our factory of the leaches that have been sucking our wallets. Go to http://www.iam933.net/ and fill out the
petition for freedom. The petition is a free download and in two formats for your convenience. Please Complete and mail it to the Decertify Committee. If you have any questions, drop them a line on their website, or leave a note here.

Jimbo must be puckering

Last May the AZ Daily Star published a couple articles showing how membership at the union has dropped five years straight. I critisized reporter Becky Pallack for not looking deeper into the LM-2 form. She would have noticed the union has less clout than reported. Now I'm wringing my hands together waiting to see the LM-2 for 2008! I predict a similar reduction in the union role call.
LODGE 933 represents Boeing, HE Microwave, CAE Reflectone, RMS Rescue & Fire, and L-3 Communications in addition to Raytheon Missile Systems and others. How many members does that leave at RMS? Less than 865?
Again, here are the facts, as reported by President Harry Anthros using the LM-2 for 2007. Also the two previous annual statements of representation. It shows total membership, the number of active members who have a vote, and the others with no voice.
-
Year -- Total members -- Active Members -- retired/other
2007 -- 1671 ------------ 1165 -------------- 506
2006 -- 1699 ------------ 1258 -------------- 441
2005 -- 1765 ------------ 1392 -------------- 373
-
The union had 1671 total members. But only 1165 of them counted. The rest were retired members, or unemployed. These guys can't vote in the Decertification. We're calling their bluff!
Last year they had only 1165 active members across all the companies they represent, and aproximately 1730 laborers at Raytheon, it appears they fell below the 50% representation mark at RMS. This year, it is gonna look worse! Lots of people are fed up and retired. Others are quitting the union. Ed Q will be the last President of Lodge 933 at RMS! And Jimbo must be puckering!

Pinwheels

Its come to my attention that we have a LIVE one in Bld 811!

A real paranoid-schizoid case is brewing against the freedom fighters. Last week someone left a few pinwheels around in building 811, gifts to salaried, non-union and union workers alike. There was no message or secondary intent for these gifts, just a simple act of good cheer.

Then the buffoonery started. Some hot-air blowing maroon came around and noticed the pinwheels on some desks and he became unglued! This was an unprovoked open harassment of the union! (yeah right) And he was going to stop it!

So he went to a Department Manager and DEMANDED that somebody be disciplined for this. This was total disrespect of the union, and an intolerable condition! He showed a picture of some union website with a picture of what looks like airplane tails in a circle around the local union's symbol.

See for yourselves! Click on the article's title "pinwheels", and see if their page provokes delusions. Anyway, this is the most preposterous idea I have heard in a while, so I HAD to mention it here. This guy is feeding on self-induced or union provoked paranoia and he has made a monkey of himself.

I hope the people who were harassed as a result of one man's kindness go to HR and report the case. Maybe they should go to security too, and report the kooky behavior of this union primate...you never know if someone is coming unglued these days.

As for our party, we discovered the union’s paranoid schizophrenia has helped generate an idea for our cause. We might just use the pinwheel like we never imagined. We couldn’t make this stuff up in our dreams! It’s just too funny!

Time for Teletubbies, time for Teletubbies!

Featherless Chickens

Welcome back from vacation everyone! 2009 puts us within sight of a union free shop. It's been a fun two years watching the tough union guys frown at us as we go about our business testing products out on the lines. I wonder how they reconcile that in church? They've challenged us to stop whatever it is we're doing. "Stop making anti union web sites!" " Stop wearing T-Shirts and hats!" "Stop wearing those offensive buttons." "Whaaaaa! I'm gonna tell HR on youuuu!" (sob) And they did. And HR told them to shut up and stop crying.
-
It seems like our side has won the debate by de-chicken. IAM Lodge 933 lacks any leadership capable or willing to confront the opposition in debate. The union has chickened-out of a debate by not showing up. Once in a while we'll get the token slogan or two on the blog, but we haven't had any debate on this site from the opposition. Why? IMHO they are featherless chickens. They are flapping their featherless wings around the company squawking up a storm doing a whole lot of nothing. They can't handle the heat of debate.
-
Their officers can't write a convincing argument to represent. They are unwilling to represent themselves, they are unqualified to represent me, how do they think they can represent you out on the manufacturing floor? One way you're getting represented is the increased taxes on your salary.
-
The three percent raise you get this month is gonna get offset by a negative margin, right about the time the union negotiated contract let your medical costs soar. They raised your dues because we got smart and quit. Now they demand a bigger share of your check!
-
You either support the union, or you reject it for a more practical alternative that doesn't include taxation without representation. The union's argument for keeping a bargaining contract flies about as well as a featherless chicken. I choose to side with the majority of RMS employees and go for the deal that salaried folks get. Oust 933!

Happy New Year 2009

Seasons Greetings!

I wish all Raytheon Employees and their families a winning lottery ticket this new year.

I pray those of you with loved ones in the middle east find peace with the safe return of your family hero.

May these brave men and women find comfort in your support. They are an inspiration now and for generations to come.

For those of you against Union Removal, I wish you an extra dose of peace.
I hope peace prevails over your hate for free co-workers. May you discover the union was for naught after it is gone.

May a spirit of change come over RMS. A change that removes belligerence, and creates unity between management and labor.

May our new President lead our nation with wisdom beyond politics.
His call for change has inspired millions. I wish that his policies bring a return to prosperity and well being across all of America.

Reindeer Union

The union is building a list. Like Santa, they are checking it twice!

You better not cross,
you better not try,
you better not sign,
the petition on sly,
Jimbo and his cronies will frown,

They're making a list,
checking it twice,
gonna find out who's petition is ice,
Jimbo and his cronies will frown.

They'll see you when you work hard,
they'll see you cross the line,
they'll see you in your orange T-Shirt,
they'll spread rumors all around,

You better not cross,
you better not try,
you better not sign,
the petition on sly,
Jimbo and his cronies are clowns.

Merry Christmas season all!
